Findings of all sorts

Today I have said goodbye to I, who is going to Kenya for 6 months. Yesterday I realized that she is by far the coolest friend I have. Wish I had her courage.

This past week I have been dancing to Justin Bieber, and have heard myself say "I'm gonna go home and start my own band, with me being the band!" (and really mean it)
Needles to say I was quite drunk at both occations. And the thing is, when I am drunk I believe that I am the coolest person I know. Good thing I have friends that stick around anyway...

The return of creativity

Have taken up some of my little creative projects again. I feel privileged to have the time to do so. (The real art though, is to finish one of these projects...)

Trivialities

Went for a run in the snow yesterday. Hurt my lungs.
Have had one of the best weekends in a long time. Slept in, with company in bed (sounds dodgy. Is not.). Talking in the kitchen, pancakes, white wine.

Have also seen a firetruck from above. Don't know why I find that such a big deal??

The Queen

Celebrated the Queen's 40th jubilee as reign, Sunday. The sun was out, which made the frosty air perfectly clear.

Wednesday I had some good laughs with M at Comedy Zoo, and Thursday ended with an unexpected night out. Too little dancing, but very good company.

a sentimental kliché

Glory
.. but yet a personal and wonderful tribute to the most amazing thing of life. Birth.

..on weekends and knitting

First weekend in 1.5 year where I had no plans, no exams to prepare, no papers to write. Sorted piles of papers, went for a walk and knitted. (and wore the pretty red heart I got from Samantha )

//Thank you for the birthday wishes. I look forward to another year with all of you.

1 year!

Today my little diary of a blog turns 1 year old. The purpose of Li & Verden was to remember 2011. And I do. The blog has made me more aware of all the little things that make me happy in my everyday life. Whether that is a long walk, a really good cup of tea, or guessing correctly on what time it is.
A couple of really big things happened this past year. I got my BA, and I moved to Copenhagen. The changes took their impact on me and I had a couple of hard months at the end of the year. But inside I was happy all the way through even though, some days, clouds completely covered the sky...

2012 is about me. I want to take good care of myself. Concentrate on the present, but also on my future. This year I hope to continue my education. I hope to find more peace, and i hope to discover new sides of myself.

2011 Soundtrack

So, this was it for 2011. One of the things I am going to remember the year by, is music. In 2011 I have had the habit of hearing songs on repeat, again and again. Sometimes for several hours. This is a list of some of these songs. My soundtrack for 2011.

Ane Brun - These Days
City And Colour - The Girl
Elbow - jesus is a rochdale girl
Elou Elan - Aksaray's Curse
Feist - Gatekeeper
James Blake - Love What Happened Here
Joker - On My Mind
Lampshade & Teitur - Silkesår
Laura Marling - What He Wrote
Nizlopi - Yesterday
Paramore/Phoenix - Long Distance Call
Ryan Adams & Norah Jones - Dear John
Tina Dickow - They Should See Me
Veronica Maggio - Inga Kläder

(I know this photo has absolutely no connection to the post. But it was what I was wearing today. And sometimes you run out of photos...)

New Years

New Year was the best in a long time. The first without expectations. And the first without champagne. Celebrated with L, her parents, and some family. Ate, lost in Bezzerwizzer (hate that game more and more) and watched fireworks. Or, stood behind all the others, clinging to L with fear. Lost another game, and drove home.

//Thank you for your sweet comments in the last post. I hope your NYEs was as good as mine! I look forward to following all you lovely ladies in 2012.
